Education day at the Taggart's...

Richard asked me the other day "What is inside us?" I was so impressed that a 3 1/2 year old boy would ask this question. I proceeded to tell him about bones, muscles, veins, the heart, brain, etc. He was fascinated by this. We were up the canyon so I didn't have additional resources such as pictures.

Yesterday morning I got on innerbody.com and showed him these images among others. We talked about the different functions of the body, the organs, etc. We talked about food being digested and either becoming waste or being absorbed into our bloodstream. He thought that was really cool. It is really cool.

This morning he said, "Mom, I want to look at my body again." I'm glad he is so fascinated in the human body, what is "inside [him]." Richard has learned more in the last few days than I did in a year of school. But I remembered enough to share with him at least. Ha, ha. :)

I look forward to sharing more with my kids. I love that Richard has a thirst to learn. He is such a fun kid and I never know what he is going to say. I like being kept on my toes and getting a good laugh once in a while. :)

  1. Hey Jaime the Treehouse Museum in Ogden has a doctor room that has books and different things that help teach the kids more about this. When Richard came with us, (wow was it over a year ago?) He really liked it. We should take the kids.
