Bikes at Grandma and Grandpa's

The kids got to spend some time at Grandma and Grandpa Taggart's while Chris and I were out of town. I took their bikes and they had so much fun.

I love this shot!

My tough little biker chick!

Look at Richard's face! He is totally chasing Brielle.

What a fun time!

Research/fun getaway

Chris and I drove to Evanston, Randolph, and Garden City this week to do research for a project he is working on for school. It was a nice little getaway, but I really was excited to see my kids when we got home!

We ate at the Legal Tender restaurant, connected to the Best Western in Evanston. Chris had the prime rib and said it was phenomenal. I had chicken and it was mediocre at best. The decor was awful. It looked like grandma threw up pink/mauve all over the place with fake garland and flowers everwhere. Then they had European looking artwork on the walls, and a city scape of New York.
The placemats said the resraurant was FBI themed, but all the dishes we names after early 20th century gangsters and criminals like Bonnie, Scarface, Al Capone, etc. I found myself looking more at the names of the dishes rather than the description, very distracting for me. All-in-all, we had a nice evening out.

These animals were in the lobby of the Best Western so Chris had to see them. He is like a little kid when it comes to wildlife.

On our way to Bear Lake we came across cattle being herded. At one point we were totally surrounded by stinky cows.

Once we got to Garden City, by Bear Lake, we were ready for lunch. We stopped here at the Bear Trapper, but the buffet was seafood. (Good for Chris, not so good for me. I HATE seafood!) And we really didn't want a buffet so we walked next door to a pizza place. I didn't get a photo, but I think it was called Bear Lake Pizza. Ha, ha! It was pretty good pizza, but I thought it was a bit pricy! Nice decor and really nice people!

On our way home we drove up some of the mountain trails. May/June begins our scouting efforts. We saw a ton of antelope, about 3 deer and 3-4 cottontail bunnies. This is the ONLY decent shot.

Thank you Bryce and Donnell for watching the kids for us. It is always nice to have a night away once in a while.

Pizza picnic

Wednesday we had the our friends Jaxon and Alyvia over for the day. The kids had a lot of fun. I thought this picnic was so cute so I snapped a couple of pics. Thank you for coming over to play with Richard and Hannah!

Waterslide mania...

I have an inventive little 4 year old. It was really hot on Monday and I filled the kids' pool with fresh water. Richard asked me to put the slide into the water and he ran a hose down it to cool it off. He and Hannah played for hours. It was a fun, and free, way to keep cool.

It was a shockingly cold surprise at the end. They had so much fun and I'm sure we'll do it again when it's as hot as Monday was!

Marshmallow roast

Saturday night we went up Farmington canyon for the first time this season. We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. Hannah ate almost as many hotdogs as Chris did. And between the 4 of us we went through an entire bottle of baby pickles. We were hungry. It was fun to be in the mountains and have a campfire, though we had to go to the top where there was still tons of snow. Next time we will plan ahead. It was still great and the kids had so much fun and got SOOOO dirty!

Soccer!!

Over the weekend we went to 2 of Rocky's soccer games. He played really hard and we had a great time watching him! The kids had fun running around and playing on the playground as well as hanging out with Chloe and Bo. The following is a slideshow of the pics I snapped.

Birthday outing

We just kept in low-key this year. Chris and I took the kids to a new Mexican grill in Layton, Guadalajaras. I thought it was AWESOME! Really tasty food. Hannah had a lot of fun and enjoyed the clothes, swimsuit, and shoes she got.
Beautiful birthday girl!
Silly boys!

Look at that sweet little face. He smiles even though Daddy is squishing his head.

Grandma Kia sent the kids a playhouse/slide for Hannah's birthday/summer play. Richard was so excited to see it. He's been waiting for weeks. Once we got it together Hannah was really excited, too. They have been on it ever day since.

Happy Birthday to my sweet Hannah!!!

My little Hannah is truly an angel. She is sweet, loving, funny as can be, and such a good helper. She is daring and adventurous. Hannah loves her brother, Richard, so much. They are best buds. If one is sleeping, the other wakes him/her up just to play and be together. Hannah loves to run away from her Daddy's hugs and kisses, she thinks it's a great game. And she always eats the food that Richard doesn't finish. She is so funny! I love you so much Hannah banners.

Mother's Day

What a nice day we had yesterday. Got up and went to church. Spent some time at Chris's parent's new home with the family, and stopped to see my Mom and some of my family. I love being able to see everyone we can and spend time together.
Hannah also had a special day because she got her birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa Taggart. They gave her a darling Elmo restaurant. All the kids had so much fun.
(Thank you Bryce for the extra photos. They are so cute! Or "dute" as Hannah would say.)
