Adventures in Arkansas

Well, I still have a lot of pictures to post, but our computer and internet have not been working too well and we have had a lot going on so I will post them when I can. In the mean time...here are pics of the kids on the "Big Dam Bridge" here in Little Rock. We are having fun discovering our new city.

The kids love to climb everything!!! The found these rock near the bridge and had to take them on.

We have been doing a lot of walking and the kids have taken up jogging with me, a little. lol. But on the bridge we were racing and Richard decided they should do push-ups. Yes, this is my kids doing push-ups in the middle of the "Big Dam Bridge". I love it!!!

It is so funny to hear the kids say, "Big Dam Bridge" and Richard caught on that we were giggling when they said it so he exclaimed, "Look at those big dam pickles. And those big dam bananas." We laughed and laughed until we almost cried. It was hilarious!

Mount Rushmore

Since we are moving soon we decided to take the day and visit Mt. Rushmore. It was such a beautiful sight. I am really glad we went. The kids thought it was so cool and had a lot of fun.

I love this view. I think it is one of my favorite pictures of the day.

We took this from the road driving by.

This was actually our first view. It was breath taking.

This is the cute little tourist town we drove through. It was pretty much a ghost town. It would be fun to see all the shops and restaurants open and busy. But I loved the look of it.

We saw a lot of deer and wild turkey. It was fun since we haven't seen too many deer here in Nebraska. They were so mellow and just ate right off the side of the road even though we were talking and snapping pics. They were so beautiful.

We decided to eat a late lunch in town. This is the Mt. Rushmore All American Family Restaurant. It looked cute so we thought we would try it. First of all, they must not have a clean air act in SD because there was a stale smoke smell that invoked the cough I had been battling all day.

The menu was very sparse. You had your choice of pizza, burgers, chicken fingers, and fish. That is about it. When Chris asked our server what their specialty is she paused for almost a full minute then said, "I can see if we have pizza." It's not a good sign if your server doesn't know the menu, what's good, or if they don't know when something is not available.

I ordered a chicken salad. The chicken was flavored pretty well, but they didn't drain the lettuce after being washed and I had a puddle of water at the bottom of my bowl. So I ate the top portion and left the soup. The kids weren't very hungry so they had some fries. The fries were ok but nothing to write home about. Chris ordered a burger that had a soggy bottom bun. So, we really weren't impressed. Maybe it's better in the summer time.

Richard got his very first pocket knife. It even has his name on it and says "Mount Rushmore" on the back. He was pretty excited!
