New Crafts

T-shirt pillows.Chris found these shirts at Cabela's for a great price so I decided to make pillows out of them for gifts. They are in the mail right now so I cannot say who they are for.

My kids liked them so much that they pulled shirts out of their closets that they love and are getting too small. So I whipped them up.

I began this project long ago and finally fished it. Chris's jaw will drop. He requested a wrap for his wrenches and here it is. We found this hideous fabric at the thrift store for CHEAP so Chris picked it up. It is thick and heavy and will do the trick.

Bikes and Kayaks

Chris and I broke down and bought new bikes. Mine was a loaner and the gears began gowing a couple of years ago. It also needs new tires, so I bought a new one. Chris found a good one for him and we took the kids for a ride around Spring Meadow Lake. We are working on riding without the training wheels, they are close, but with an extended family ride it was just easier to put them on for the day.

We have been researching kayaks for a while and decided to get these little ones that the kids can learn in. So today we went back to Spring Meadow Lake for a little trial. They had a lot of fun. Richard is a little champ and Hannah is learning quickly. But my body is SORE now! It was totally worth it. :)

While the kids and I were kayaking Chris was fishing. He caught this beautiful trout and cooked it up for dinner. It was a great family day and we had a wonderful time!

Exploration Works Field Trip

Some of the first graders from Richard's school went on a field trip to a children's science and discovery museum in town. I offered to help out and Hannah got to be a part of the action.

They were learning about eyes and got to make their own.

This is Richard's favorite part. You have an opponent and attempt to move a ball on the table away from you into the opponent's circle. He does a great job on this.

Hannah and I built several towers and some kids, along with other parents and teachers, tried to build some as well.

This was by far the largest tower of the day!

Hannah was thrilled to be the only kid in the group to go to the little kid area.

Then we took a couple of pictures outside just for fun. It was a fun day and we learned a lot.

Spring Meadow Lake State Park Adventure

Hannah was being silly between errands and picking Richard up from school and created a new outfit. (We had attended a baby shower earlier in the day so I was miraculously asked to do her hair.)

When we picked Richard up from school we headed out for an adventure at Spring Meadow Lake. There is a trail that goes all the way around the lake with jut-offs to the lake. We were able to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather, nature, and I got some terrific pictures of the scenery and my amazing models. These two LOVE being in front of the camera and will pose creatively for me. They always make me laugh during these "photo sessions". Their facial expression are always the best part.

We discovered many signs of deer...tracks, droppings, and this area covered with beds.

It was exciting to find this frozen portion of the lake.

Richard discovered this spot while I was taking pictures of Hannah by the tree. He has quite the male model stare.

Hannah came up with the idea that this is the mean witch's home and that we had to freeze where we were so she would not get us. Finally, we made it to safety but encountered trolls, goblins, and unicorns on the way to the good witch's castle. We got to practice our kick boxing skills all the way to the good witch's castle.

Finally we arrived to the castle and the kids took a much deserved rest.

We had so much fun and will be going back soon. Maybe even today.
