Dirt bikes

The kids and I were out for a walk last night and went some places we have never been before, we like adventures. We came across this really cool dirt bike course and we had to go back with their bikes this morning. It was a lot of fun to watch them and the silly faces they made. They got really dirty with several falls but they kept getting up to try again. I was really proud of them. Ironically, they fell more going up the big hills than down them.

Backyard obstacle course

The kids were bored so I helped them build an obstacle course out of random items from our yard and house. After a few runs they were getting bored so I started timing them. They wanted to beat each other and the previous times. Then I had them go through it backward. It was a lot of fun and they look forward to creating another one soon.

Ella was a great cheerleader. When one of the other kids would get close to her she would "talk" to them. It was really cute. I filmed each Richard and Hannah doing the obstacle course but for some reason Blogger will not allow her video to post. I'll keep working on it, though.

Honey, honey

This was the only part of the song she knew at this point...

Ella and the popsicle

Ella has been discovering all kinds of new foods. One hot day one of us had a popsicle and she wanted to try it. I love those lashes. My beautiful baby!

Summer Ice Skating

On a very hot June day we decided to go ice skating. My mom is a member of her local recreation center and she took us. This was the first time for Richard and Hannah and I have not been for over 10 years. It was a lot of fun.

Karate

I signed the kids up for a karate workshop today. They have been wanting to try karate for a long time so I thought this would be fun for them. They learned a lot about self control, respect, and discipline as well as technique, aim, and speed. Here are some pictures of them in their uniforms doing what they learned.

Dance has helped Hannah with the choreography of karate and being pigeon toed helped her keep her toes pointed properly.

Richard had great form and power but had trouble turning those toes forward.

At the end of class they got to break a board. Richard did his quickly and easily. It took Hannah took 4 turns to break hers then was the only one in the class to break it in thirds and the instructors were impressed. They each earned their white belts for doing this.
