Fathers Day

I'm hoping this Father's Day was enjoyable for Chris. The kids got him a Gerber pocket knife/tool, a moose tie and Richard made this great booklet with a picture of the kids and Chris inside. Chris also requested for his gift to be that he buy a gun at a great deal and get it fixed up for his Dad for Father's Day. I thought that was very sweet of him. The gun is not yet finished, but he let Bryce know about the impending gift. Actually, Chris gave Bryce a box of bullets then informed him of the gun. Richard also made his Grandpa a book. Maybe I'll scan it and blog it later today. :)
Well, after church we went to Bryce and Donnell's and they had a nice dinner for us. I just realized that I didn't get photos of the fathers, but here are the kids having fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Wheeler Farm and Bunker Family Pool Party

This was a fun, long, hot day. We started off the day by meeting my Mom at her house. We then went to Wheeler Farm for some great activities they had going all day. This is a long entry, so bear with me.
Here we are on the train ride. Richard was so excited he couldn't see straight. :)

Then my Mom bought Richard a wristband to go on all the inflatables and bounce houses. He was up and down and going through mazes. He was sure keeping up with the older kids there.

He cried when I pulled him away from these.Hannah had fun, but was anxious to get out of her stroller.
Richard found a group of kids bouncing balls off this parachute and had to join in.
Mom and Hannah looking at the horses. I was really surprised how much Hannah loved the animals. She wanted to pet and feed all of them. What a brave girl.

Richard has loved goats since Aunt Lani's Easter party. He was so excited to feed them and pet them. Hannah joined right in.
Can you see the goat eating the stroller handle?

Then we saw some sheep. The kids loved them, too.
After grabbing a bite to eat, we headed to the pool party. Some of the family was playing golf and the rest of us, the mommies, watched the kids swim. It was so much fun!
Hannah and Richard started swimming on their own, thanks to these great life vests. They had so much fun. I think they swam for 2-3 hours. It was great, especially after a long day of being in the sun.
Look at those little toesies! Hannah kept pointing one foot out of the water. So funny!

Richard found a little fishing pole that he played with on the steps for 30 min. or so, until he got the hang of swimming. He loved trying to catch Bo and Brady.

The kids were so tired, they fell asleep right away on the ride home and went right to bed for the night. Oh I love those little kids!
Thank you Preston and Ashley for the use of the pool and clubhouse! Thank you Paul and Heidi for planning a fun family activity. It was good to see some of my cousins, aunts, nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law. And thank you, Mom for taking the day off to spend with me and the kids.

Ogden Nature Center

It was warmer and sunnier today so I decided to take the kids out for a discovery adventure. We headed up to the Ogden Nature Center. I had never been there so didn't know what to expect. We walked about 3 miles through some gorgeous nature. We saw some frogs, fish, birds, a snake, and two beautiful deer. They were so red!
As you enter, there are creative birdhouses lining the path. Richard especially liked this one of a robot.
He got to wear a backpack and was in charge of the map for us. We pretended to be Dora and boots the whole time. Richard kept saying, "Where are we going...(clap, clap, clap)?" and "I'll check the map." I'd tell him, "pond, hole, treehouse." (You'd have to know Dora to get this)
I just thought this was an incredible view.
Richard was able to go up in a tree house. He thought that was pretty cool.
I wish I would have had the camera available to take a picture of the deer, but I missed them. There were so close to us. Richard waved and said, "Hi deer!"
After we saw the deer, Richard was so tired. He didn't feel that he could walk any further. I was proud of him, he carried the backpack for almost 2 miles and walked a bit further than that. So I couldn't blame him for being tired. I took Hannah out of the stroller, adjusted the seatbelt, put Richard in with Hannah on his lap, buckled them in, and off we went. They thought that was pretty funny. All-in-all, we had a good adventure.

Indiana Jones

Richard picked this song up by hearing the commercials. One day he just started singing it. In his cereal this morning he found an Indiana Jones spoon, so he was excited and started humming the song.

From the mouths of babes...

Richard was a bit rowdy in Sacrament Sunday so I told him about Jesus's sacrifice, that the bread and water symbolize His body and blood. That he sacrificed for each of us to live with Him again some day. This is what Richard remembered a few days later...pretty good for a 3 year old. And he came up with his own answers for the question, "Who did Jesus sacrifice for?"

Funny boy...

I was on the phone to Chris and realized Richard was awfully quiet. Usually that means he is pooping. But then I realized he said he wanted a little chocolate cake (zinger.) We have had some in the outside freezer for months and I forgot about them. I looked out the open back door and saw that my car door was open and the garage door was open, as well as the freezer door. Then he grabbed his zinger, closed the freezer door, got in the car and closed the garage door, then closed the car door and came in. What a funny pooh bear. He is learning and growing so quickly! I love that tiger!

Hanner Banner update...

My baby girl is now 13 months old. For her 1 year visit to the Dr. she weighed 20 lbs 13 oz putting her in the 50th percentile for her age. She was 30 1/4 inches tall putting her in the 90th percentile. I hope she stays tall and lean! She is such a beautiful and fun girl!

Hannah has been walking for about a week now. She is getting around very well. She will say No, yes, Da, Ma, woof (for her doggie), wow, and hi. Hannah climbs over, under, and around everything! She loves to be on the move. I love to watch her stand up in the middle of the floor and walk. She also loves phones. She will pretend to talk forever!
She also enjoys swimming, or just being around water. (She takes after me there) She loves her Mom, adore her brother, and is love with her Daddy!

Richard's post...

Richard wanted to type something to everyone today. Hope you enjoy his message...

WIOWA

Richard usually sings this Backyardigans song VERY loudly. He got a little shy.

KSL news anchor

I missed the first part, but Richard said, "Ladies and gentleman" before he said "boys and girls." I don't know where he learned that, but I laughed. He made friends with this little boy at the mall. They played for a long time until the boy had to leave.

The mall playground...

We don't go to the mall very often, but when I take the kids we have to stop at the little playground. Richard loves it and this was the first time Hannah has been to it. At first she just sat there watching Richard and the other kids, then she was all over the place.
Richard make friends with other kids any where we go. He is so fun.

Feeding the ducks...

We live minutes from a community pond. Richard loves to go feed the ducks, so we went today. Here are a few cute pics from his adventure.
