America's Next Top Model Winner...

My girl Whitney did it!!! She took the top prize, and is the first "full figure" model to ever win. Way to be fierce and represent for the curvy girls out there! Props to Tyra, too, for selecting Whitney!

charlie Bit me!!

This is hilarious. For those of you that haven't seen it, I saw it on Ellen yesterday. I had to blog it! I watched it about 12 times. Richard even had me replaying it. So so funny! There are tons of remakes, too.

Survivor...And the winner is...What??!!

So, Ozzy was blindsided by the rest of the tribe. James was eliminated due to an infection in his finger that was life threatening. Amanda was my final choice to win this season and she made it to the final 3, and the surprise final 2. I cannot believe that the jury voted Parvati to win!!! But this was a great season.

Hannah's first birthday...

Hannah's first birthday was Sunday. We didn't plan a party because Chris's parents invited us over for dinner. We had a nice time. The weather was perfect to be outside. Here are some photos from the weekend.

Playing around on her new sleeping bag, Richard got a red one.

Eating a treat on her new picnic table.

Sharing with Richard.

Early Mother's Day Surprise...

Chris called me on his way home from work Friday afternoon and told me to pack bags for each of us and drop the kids off at Aunt Lani's home. I was excited but not sure what to expect. I had a few ideas, though. It was the best surprise ever!

First we went to Taggart's grill up Weber Canyon, by Morgan, and had a yummy dinner. I've heard a lot of good about this restaurant, and always wanted to go.

Then we went to the Alaskan Inn, up Ogden Canyon, for the night. It was amazing! The following are photos of the entry, the view, and our room. What a wonderful weekend! It was such a surprise, Chris even ordered chocolate dipped strawberries, my most favorite!!! :) There were a few other surprises, too, that I'll save for myself. He did a great job! Thanks, Babe!

Hannah's growing up

We had fun playing today and I thought I'd capture some of Hannah's growing up on camera.

Lullabye

I put Hannah down for a nap Thursday when I heard Richard playing a piano and singing. I kept telling him to let Hannah sleep, but he kept shushing me. Then I realized that he was singing "Twinkle Twinkle..." to her. I had to catch this on video.

Little schmoozer...

Last night Richard came up to me and said, "Mom, you are my best mom," while he gave me a great big hug. I was so touched! I looked at him and told him how nice that was. As I was trying to express my gratitude he cut me off and said, "Now can I watch a show?" He makes me laugh every single day! What a cute, and good, little boy.

My mom will love this...

Take this test!
OK, so maybe you never went straight from a convent to motherhood, but it's a safe bet that you encourage and support your family in much the same way that Maria did. Playful and yes, sometimes a little mischievous, you tend to lead by doing, and you always make sure to help your children achieve their goals without actually doing it for them.

You inspire your family because you always find creative ways to make even the most mundane chores or homework problems seem fun and important. And you want others to try to find the beauty in life — whether it's from art, music, books, or adventure. Those are just a few of your favorite things.

My theme song

Take this test!
Your upbeat approach to life makes "Walking on Sunshine" the perfect anthem for you. We can see you dancing down the vegetable isle with your grocery cart, smiling at all the checkout clerks. We sure hope you've had your Wheaties to keep up with your perky pace all day long. This happy, horn-driven tune carries you to work every day. And even in those brief lapses when you're not fully on your game, "Walking On Sunshine" seems to put things in perspective and get you back to your super groove. "And don't it feel good?" Who cares that this tune was a one-hit wonder for Katrina and the Waves? Even that quality matches your one-of-a-kindness. You're walkin' on sunshine and spreading it wherever you go.

DAVID ARCHULETA ON AMERICAN IDOL!!!

How great was this kid last night?! He is just so captivating when he performs, and cute as a button when he talks. I hope so badly that he wins this thing! Go David!!!

My little Hannah...

I took my baby girl to YW Tuesday night. She had a lot of fun being outside, although we were up WAY past her bedtime and she was getting fussy. Monica's kids eat her up! And she loved the dog. Hannah is a good girl, I love her so much!

Warm weather days...

The weather has been so gorgeous!!! I had the sprinklers on our front, our sprinkling system doesn't work out there very well. Anyway, Richard was trying to get a drink from it. He finally gave in and got his hands wet and licked them. What a funny boy! I love him so much!

My little handyman...

Richard was lying under the table the other day and told me he was fixing it. Then he decided he needed his tools from outside. I held the door open while he hauled a few in. He got right back under the table and got to work. He plays Handy Manny sometimes, Disney character. I think he is hilarious. (Sorry about the lighting, I couldn't get on the other side of the table.)

Young Women's campfire making...

We are starting our girls camp certifications. Tuesday night we made campfires with coconut, pretzels and Tootsie Rolls. The best part is that we got to eat our "fires" after building them. :)
We had 2 girls there that don't usually come, reactivation is a tricky one, but we are getting better! It was a great, and beautiful night! After the fire building, we all took turns on the swings and trampoline in Monica's back yard. Even the leaders did tricks on the trampoline. It was a lot of fun. Hannah even loved the bounce on the trampoline. I think we'll have to get one in the next year or two. :)
