Heidi's surprise party...

Brittany orchestrated a surprise birthday party for her Mom's 40th birthday last night. I think she did a great job. The only problem was that we all anticipated her coming through the garage door, but they came in the front. Here is Bryce waiting to open the door for her. It was pretty funny! :)
Hannah and Richard played in the play room forever before going outside, it was so hot inside with all those people!
She still looks pretty surprised, although we were all waiting at the wrong door. :)

Heidi getting ready to blow out the candles.
When we pulled up to the house we saw this sign and 2 chickens. It was hilarious! They don't know who left it there either. Riley was feeding them bread.
Riley is such a talented kid! He has been playing comp. baseball for years and has done such a great job. He just had try-outs for high school golf. He is going to be a freshman and made the varsity team. Try-outs are 3 days, but he had prior commitments, the coach told him after the first day to take care of those commitments and not worry, but he has already made the team. What an accomplishment. We love ya, Riley!
Heidi and her sisters all have wonderful voices and they sound fantastic together. They did a barbershop song for all of us and did a great job!
Lori, Cindy, Heather, Holly, Lisa, Heidi (The Dunroe Sisters)
Brittany and Whitney are going to Trek today. They are both wearing this adorable dress. They will be trekking in style. Riley is going too.
Richard and Marki became buds last night. They play together all night. It was so cute to see them together. Richard usually plays with Bo and Brady, but they were playing video games so Richard came outside to hang out with Marki. It was adorable. Marki is the cutest!

A day at the mall...

We got to spend the day at the mall with Donette and her kids. Richard and Hannah had a lot of fun with them. Hannah loved this chair and teddy bear, both just her size.

Colby got a little restless so Brie pushed him around for a few minutes.
They loved playing with the props and had them all over the store.
I saw this bench and thought Hannah would love it, she did for a few minutes. She wanted to get down and play ball with the big kids. That's my Hannah,
Richard found a fishing pole and Brie put trees all around him so he was fishing in the forest. Look how happy he is!

Then we went to the playground. They all had a lot of fun.
Richard is quite the news man!
Instead of climbing up the stairs and going down the slide, Hannah liked to climb up the slide. Good thing they were the only kids there, a rarity.
Here goes Colby!
Brielle, the anchorwoman.
I promised Richard that if he was good he would be able to go on one ride in the space shuttle. He had a lot of fun and was really good.

Hannah was so tired. She slept for almost 3 hours when we got home. But she was really good despite being so tired.
It was a fun couple of hours. Thank you guys for coming to play!

Dinner with Paul and fam...

What a fun evening. Thank you guys for coming the long distance to our home. Paul, thank you for helping with our computers. You are the best. I had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone and talking to Brittany and Heidi. You guys are the best. And thank you Riley and Rocky for keeping my kids happy. Richard was so sad when you left. He said, "But the sun is still up."
Bryce, Brittany, Hannah, Riley, and Chloe
Rocky, Riley, Chloe, Hannah
Riley and Richard
Rocky and Hannah. Hannah fell in love with Rocky. Later in the evening, Rocky was telling me of Fable Haven that he read and Hannah went right over to him and sat on his lap, numerous times. You'll see a pic later.
Bo and Richard played outside the whole time. These boys love their trucks!
Richard laughed here when Bo ran into Lightning McQueen.
Cute Chloe, Heidi stole that name from me, but it fits her. Besides, Hannah fits Hannah, too. :) And Chloe likes my Hannah, as well as Hannah Montana!
Rocky and Hannah.
Rocky and Hannah, again. Isn't that so cute that she just plopped herself on his lap? He is darling with kids.
Then they went on a ride down our sidewalk. So cute!
Rocky dump-trucking down the street.
Riley took Bo, then Richard, for a ride down the street. They had so much fun!

Then Riley towed Rocky around. The neighbors must have thought the circus was in town. I love being around these kids, they have so much energy and just crazy and fun!
Here he comes. It was really fun to watch them be crazy boys.

Dancing kids

The above video is of the kids break dancing and doing the "robot."

The below is of Richard rapping and dancing. He is saying, "check it out."

Education day at the Taggart's...

Richard asked me the other day "What is inside us?" I was so impressed that a 3 1/2 year old boy would ask this question. I proceeded to tell him about bones, muscles, veins, the heart, brain, etc. He was fascinated by this. We were up the canyon so I didn't have additional resources such as pictures.

Yesterday morning I got on innerbody.com and showed him these images among others. We talked about the different functions of the body, the organs, etc. We talked about food being digested and either becoming waste or being absorbed into our bloodstream. He thought that was really cool. It is really cool.

This morning he said, "Mom, I want to look at my body again." I'm glad he is so fascinated in the human body, what is "inside [him]." Richard has learned more in the last few days than I did in a year of school. But I remembered enough to share with him at least. Ha, ha. :)

I look forward to sharing more with my kids. I love that Richard has a thirst to learn. He is such a fun kid and I never know what he is going to say. I like being kept on my toes and getting a good laugh once in a while. :)

My little window washer...

Richard ran right outside to help me with the yard work as soon as he heard me washing the windows. He did a pretty good job helping.

Here we go again...

The kids both fell asleep as soon as we got to Curtis Creek, so we found this campground and Chris and I took a bit of a snoozer, too. Then we all got out to play and get a drink and a snack. I also took the kids for a walk. It was fun.
I took the kids for a little nature walk. They kept up pretty well, with the use of their "walking sticks".
Richard attempted many places on this giant log to get over it. He was determined to do it himself!
And he did it! Good job, and way to be persistent, bud!
Hannah loves dirt, sticks, and rocks so she felt right at home.
And she loves these Pringles stick crackers Aunt Lisa introduced us to. Thanks Lisa!

On one of our many stops, I spotted this butterfly on one of my fav flowers.
Chris was spotting deer with his binoculars so Richard used his, his hands.
Then Daddy let him borrow the real ones! :)
