Family temple day...

The Taggarts and Grobergs were able to go to the temple together today. Bryce was doing the temple work for Greg, Chris's brother. It was a really nice time. I felt the Spirit so powerfully.

Afterward, we all went to eat. Here are a few pictures, sorry they aren't great, I was rushing.

Another funny moment...

I just remembered a funny thing Richard did a couple of weeks ago. I told him I was going to give his a raspberry, then I blew on his cheek. He said, "I'm going to give you a pineapple," and he did the same to me. Now whenever someone blows on a cheek, arm, or tummy he says it is a pineapple or strawberry.

Hannah was climbing on the couches while I was preparing dinner. She fell between them and just giggled, then tried to get out by herself. I ran to get the camera to take a picture as fast as I could before she fell down. What a funny girl!

The innocence of a child...

We had a lady come by this afternoon to buy some tires. Richard was out in the garage helping me with them. Then he turned to the lady and said, "Hey lady. Hey lady." When she responded, he asked, "Do you want to play with me, lady?" I thought it was so funny, but sweet and innocent. Richard is such a people person and loves to have fun with others.

A funny memory...

Since I use this blog for journaling/scrap booking my photos and memories, I'm adding stories of my past. I don't know what triggered the memory last night, maybe because a certain song was stuck in my head. But here goes.

About 7 years ago I went on a cruise with some of my friends. We decided to do karaoke one night. There were 5 of us and we decided to do a Spice Girls song. We got up and had a lot of fun, even "assigning" the group's names to ourselves. I'm sure I was Ginger spice since we both have red hair. But later that night some people stopped us on our way to or from dinner. They had a camera so we just thought the usual, they want us to take their photo. Not the case, they asked if they could take OUR photo. They had seen us singing and wanted to show their sons, "that the Spice Girls were on our cruise."

It was funny, and flattering, but I haven't thought of that story for so many years. It just hit me as funny when I thought of it again last night. As I think of other funny memories, I will probably record them here. Mostly, as I said, for my journaling purposes.

Time-out...

Richard was naughty to his sister this morning so I sent him to time-out. When I went to check on him, he was no where to be found. Then I looked in Hannah's crib and there he was, pouting. Richard hates time-out and always says, "I be good boy." But this time he decided to have fun with it.

And then he climbed out all by his self. He is a little monkey!

Hannah got into Richard's yogurt today and I couldn't pass up this photo op.

Eclipse review...

So this was definately my favorite of the 3 books.I thought it was well written from the beginning. I had a hard time putting it down! I read almost all day yesterday and finished the last 10 pages this morning. Great book!

Dinosaur Park...

Today I had to take something to Chris at work so I decided while we were in Ogden I might as well take the kids to the dinosaur park. Richard had so much fun. He loves dinos anyway and just had a blast. He wanted me to read the name of each dinosaur. It was a lot of fun.

Richard found some little friends everywhere we went. He is so outgoing.

He got to dig for bones like the paleontologists. He thought that was pretty cool until an older boy put sand in his hair. Richard threw sand on him and when us moms intervened, Richard walked up to the boy, told his sorry, told his twin sorry, and gave him a hug. Then Richard said to them, "I don't want to be here anymore." He's funny!

Hannah was so tired, but she was a good sport. She even let me put her hair in little pigtails. She looks so cute! I'll have to get a better picture of them. All-in-all, we had a good day.

Richard was so funny this morning. He took a bungee cord and attached one end to his large Tonka truck and the other to his waist band and towed the truck around. Then he decided he wanted to tow Hannah. I put her in the dump truck and he pulled her around the house, until the truck fell over. I was too tired to pull out the camera, as I was up most of the night with Hannah. But it was really cute.

Photos from this weekend

Chris took Richard fishing early Saturday morning. They had a lot of fun and Richard caught a fish all on his own. But the rest of the day he just wanted to cast and reel. I'm glad he got that one-on-one time with his Daddy.

Hannah and I had a baby shower for my friend Stephanie. It was a lot of fun to see so many ladies from my ward growing up. Hannah was the star of the show. They couldn't get over her, it was a lot of fun. And a sweet lady I used to baby-sit for told me that I looked like I was still 17. What a compliment. She is a sweetheart!

Stephanie had her baby, Reuben, 6 weeks early. I was able to talk to her a bit about Richard and our preemie experiences. The baby seems to be doing well. He was only in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks and is almost up to 8 pounds already. Not bad at all.

Chris has been working on a Ford Ranger, trying to get it looking better and get it running to make some money. He has a parts truck that he let Richard drive tonight. Chris brought Hannah out and we took some cute pictures.

I wish I had photos of them fishing on Saturday. But I thought these of the kids playing together were fun. My new video link is of the kids sliding off the back of the couch. They love to do this, but I usually catch Hannah. Now she wants to be a big girl and do it all her self. After I took the video they both slid down over and over for about 10 minutes. I wasn't fast enough to spot Hannah, put her back up, and video. It was pretty funny.

I took them both to the pool today, since it was almost 80! They had a lot of fun, but Hannah is a lot more daring about the water. She would put her face in and lay on her tummy and kick, whereas Richard just wanted to be vertical. But he still had a blast. He wants me to take him back and go down the huge water slide with him. That would be fun.

Nothing new

This week has so far been pretty boring Wednesday afternoon I got very, very ill. I'm almost feeling back to normal today, but that was the most sick I have ever been. And on Tuesday Hannah was sick all day and mostly slept. Then we were both sick yesterday. I'm so grateful that Chris and Richard haven't caught whatever miserable stomach bug we had.

So since it was an uneventful week, all I really had by way of excitement was American Idol and Survivor. The Idol gives back was pretty cool. It took me much more than the 2-3 hours it was on since I had to keep pausing the show for illness purposes. :) Then the results last night, not too shocking, except I'm kind of surprised Carly was in the bottom. I didn't particularly like Michael Johns so I'm glad he's gone.

And Survivor was hilarious. I love when you get Ozzy and James together. They play off each other so well, James does anyhow. But I thought it was hilarious that the fake idol Ozzy had made was played by Eliza, I can't stand her. Then when Jeff said it wasn't the idol and tossed it in the fire Ozzy said, "That took me hours to make, Jeff." James laughed so hard, so did Chris and I. That was a great episode. So that was my excitement for the week. Wonderful, huh?

New Moon review

I really liked this book. I did think that the first 300 pages could have been cut in half, it was entertaining at times, but almost a little boring. I wanted to hear more about Edward and the Cullen family. But I still liked it and would recommend it, if you read Twilight first. :)
I think what fascinates me most about this series is how Stephenie Meyer got her inspiration. Because, althougth I liked the first book, I found parts about the vampires a bit silly, like what happens in the sunlight. He adaptation of vampires is so different from any other we have become accustomed to and maybe it was hard for me to let go of my learned biased. But reading about the dream she had that inspired the books, it all makes a bit more sense.

My little Spiderman...

Richard got this scooter from Lisa a few years ago when Brady outgrew it. Until this year I'd just push him around on it. Now he has figured it out himself and he loves it. Everyday he wants to go out on his scooter. He even brought it inside one day and rode around on the carpet. I let him pick out his helmet. He, of course, chose Spiderman. The helmet is huge, but the pads fit great.

After his bath Richard had to have his helmet and pads back on. And first thing this morning, too. He is so funny. Did you notice the rain boots?

We tried heading up the mountains in the afternoon yesterday but go caught in a pretty bad hail storm, it was snowing up higher, and there was lightning. On the way home we stopped at Smith & Edward's for some things. I found the rain boots for Richard since he loves to splash in the puddles. He gave them a try in the parking lot and didn't want to take them off. He keeps us entertained.

Yesterday morning I was telling Richard is was my Grandpa's birthday. I told him, "I think he is 85." Richard responded, "Yeah! And my Grandpa is...81." So, sorry Bryce, Richard just took about 30 years away from you. But I thought it was pretty funny! :)

It was a bit cloudy yesterday when we woke up and I thought I'd get a walk in before it rained. Chris was home from work doing our kitchen remodel so I put Hannah down for a nap, she hasn't been feeling well, and Richard and I got dressed for our quick walk. As soon as we got dressed it began to rain. We waited it our for a few minutes and it began to lightly hail. I told Richard we would just go to the end of the road and back.

Well it let up so we walked to the next street up and went down that street. We needed to turn right to come back to our street but Richard wanted to go left. The hail was picking up again and it was pretty cold. I insisted we go toward home since I was cold and it was hailing again, and Richard said, "No, we go this way. We're CRAZY!" I laughed so hard. But I still won the battle and we came home to warm up.

General Conference Dinner @ Paul & Heidi's

Every General Conference Mom has a get together between sessions on Sunday. Since this month was Paul & Heidi's turn for family dinner, and Mom recently had surgery, Paul offered to have it at his house. We had a lot of fun and some great taco soup and brownies.

The kids were all over the house and backyard. Richard had so much fun he cried when we left, I knew he would. And then he fell asleep before we got 5 miles down the road. I'm glad he has so much fun with his cousins. Hannah found a new friend, Gizmo the doggie. She wasn't afraid of him at all. I got a darling picture of the two of them.

Some of us helped Heidi and Riley put together a Harry Potter puzzle. It looked really good! They did a great job. Bryce and I got a little bored and frustrated because we didn't get very many pieces in. But it was fun to be together.

We missed my sweetie. Chris has been working so hard this week to get the kitchen remodeled and stayed home to work on the counters and sink. They look great but I always miss him! We had a lot of fun, thank you Paul and Heidi!

Library time...

I've been thinking that I need to take the kids to story time at the library. I took Richard for a few weeks before I had Hannah and I've just been so busy I haven't thought much about it. Today we went and got a schedule and Richard got his very own library card. He checked out some books for himself and for Hannah.

Chocolate lover

Richard gave Hannah chocolate while I was showering this morning. What a cute mess!

It has been a long time since I have bought bubble bath. Last time I did Richard put the whole bottle in the first time we opened it. Well, I got some this week and the kids have had so much fun together! Richard wakes up every morning, brings me the bubbles and asks if he can have a bubble bath. Then he will stay in there for 20-30 minutes playing in the bubbles. Hannah lets him do whatever he wants to her in the tub; he puts bubbles on her, dumps water on her head, they splash on each other, etc. They have a lot of fun together.

Our new floor

We have our home up for sale nad Chris has been doing home improvement projects here and there. One he is focused on right now is the flooring in the kitchen and bathroom. Both are ugly, dingy, and old linoleum. We found a great laminate flooring that looks just like hardwood. It looks so much better now!

American Idol Update

I'm so proud of David Archuleta! I think he is the most talented 16-17 year old the show has ever had!!! And his coy personality is adorable. I was surprised that Brooke White was in the bottom 3, but I think she has to get a little more excitement and her darling personality in her performances.

I can't believe Kristy Lee Cook is still in there! She has been in the bottom 2 for weeks! She's beautiful, but her voice isn't always the best. And I don't think she has the star power to win and be successful, I mean, for being a country girl she has Carrie Underwood's large shoes to fill. I'm not trying to compare them, but how could she compete with Carrie?

But I still like Carly Smithson. That girl is talented! I would love for the top 2 to be her and David Archuleta. And I have to admit, David Cook is growing on me. He is pretty cool and talented.

Tonight for Young Women we had Sister Kathy Matthews come do make-up. Kathy is a consultant for Mary Kay. Most of the girls had a lot of fun and looked really pretty. Thank you so much Sister Matthews!
