Memorial Day Weekend in St. George

Chris and I are often last minute planners for weekend trips. We were lucky to get a spot at a KOA for a night and a hotel reservation for another night so we left for St. George. I forgot to get a picture of our tent in the middle of these nice RVs, it was so funny. Anyway, all of the people there were so friendly. As soon as we put up our tent we all headed to the pool because it was nice and HOT!

After the pool we took a picnic to Quail Lake for a nice hike to the lake, a little fishing, and a hike back to the van.

Hannah would go up to any girl she say between the ages of 4-10 and became friends with each one. She even looked at a girl on the swings and said, "Do you want to be friends? What's your name? I'm Hannah." She is so funny!

We bought this racket at our neighbor's garage sale on out way out of town and Richard carried it everywhere.

Ella made many friends with the old ladies at the camp site and teenagers at the hotel pool. She is very popular! And Ella had a milestone as we were away from home...her first tooth came in! She is growing up so fast.

The evening was perfect, the view beautiful, but the fishing not so hot. The only Chris caught was this swimming diaper...

Back at the camp site Richard and I played shuffleboard then he hopped back into the pool with Chris and Hannah.

Chris and I surprise the kids, especially Richard, by going to the Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm. They had a room where the kids could discover and create, then we looked at all of the tracks they have on display, and headed out to the sand box where Richard and Hannah were able to unearth some tracks. It was pretty cool and they had a lot of fun.

Richard has wanted to be a paleontologist since he was 2 and this was exciting for him to do. He has learned so much about dinosaurs over the years. He explained to us why he was laying down to dig, this is what real paleontologists do so they don't get too tired.

Although we had planned to hike and fish more and discover some state parks we ended up spending most of our time in the pool, five times over three days. We had a ton of fun, met a lot of very nice people, enjoyed each other's company, and will certainly do this again!
