We went a few places over the weekend but I really only took a few pictures at Bear Lake on Monday. Richard was really bummed when we first got there because he was in time-out for a bit. See how upset he is?
Chris and Hannah jumped right into the cold water for a swim. They were able to go very far out into the water because it was so high, but shallow. We were all a little bummed that our sandy beach was under water, but we still had fun.
We did kayak for a bit, but with all the boats making waves around us I didn't dare pull out my camera for fear one of the wakes would tip me over. :) Richard and Hannah LOVED the "big waves" the other boats caused, they were fun.
So the kids swam for a couple of hours.
When they wanted to warm up Chris told them to throw rocks in the lake, one of their favorite activities which they can't usually do while Chris is fishing. Then they turned it into a contest to see who could throw the biggest rock.
The kids really got into the competition. It was so funny to watch them work as hard as they did. Hannah was so competitive that she rolled her slightly smaller rock as far out into the water as she could. They did a great job!
After some fun in the sun we went into town for a raspberry milk shake. Being Labor Day every place was CROWDED!!! We finally found one that wasn't too bad. The fries were yummy, the onion rings not so yummy, Chris had a burger he seemed to enjoy, and the shakes took about 40 minutes.
They tasted excellent, but the moment the shakes hit our hands they started to melt. Normally this would be fine, but with above the rim shakes it causes a great problem, and we were on our way to the car. Hannah was almost in tears because her hands were so cold and she and Chris were covered in melted milk shake. Richard's and mine were starting to cause a problem as well, but I was mostly able to keep mine under control.
However, I was laughing so hard at the rest of them that I kept spilling my shake and almost fell over in the parking lot laughing so hard. I wish someone had been there to video tape all of us crazy people. It was really amusing to see us all.
It was another memorable adventure for the Taggart family.
