We have enjoyed our bountiful baskets so much the past several weeks that we ordered two this week. All of this produce: 6 red bell peppers, 6 pomegranates, about a dozen each of gala apples and apple pears, two bags of grapes, two bags of carrots, two large heads of romaine lettuce, several plums and limes, two large bunches of bananas, 18 ears of corn, a massive amount of broccoli, and a large bowl full of new golden potatoes, all for only $30.
Hannah helped me to organize everything and I blanched the broccoli and corn to throw in the freezer. I have not decided on what to do with much of this, but some of it I can can or make preserves from. We are having fun building up our food storage and LOVE all of the yummy produce that we have been getting. I have really tried to involve the kids as much as possible, too. Chris has been bit by the preserving bug as well, making fun and creative jellies.
