Happy Birthday Chris!!

After church on Sunday we drove to a nearby lake for a picnic and a hike. What a beautiful day and view. I had to snap a few pic of the the kids.
Totally loving this pic!!!

What good is a trip to the lake without throwing rocks?!?!
I'm thinking, I'm thinking...

Chris still hasn't decided what he wants for his birthday, but we had a nice time together as a family.
When we got home I saw a swan fly by so we went out to feed it.

The kids LOVE to "climb" this tree ourside our apartment.

The Peabody and State Capitol Museum

Here are the pics of our trip to the Peabody a couple of weeks ago. This is a tradition since the late 1930's and it draws a crowd. I have heard of this on television way back when so I was excited to actually take the kids. They had so much fun!

This is too funny, but they actually reserve an elevator for the ducks.

Here is the Duck Master. He tells of the tradition and escorts the duck on their red carpet, that is vacuumed just before the ducks come out, to the pool.

Just down the street from the Peabody is the old State House which has been made into a museum. It was interesting to see pics of the former governors and the inaugural dresses of the Arkansas first ladies, including Hillary Rodem Clinton.
Richard's favorite room was where congress used to meet. He made Hannah and I sit down for a meeting. He did such a great job bringing us all to order.

Then we went to the train station room for the kids to do their favorite past time...dress-up. And play with the train sets. It was a lot of fun.
Hannah flipped a lid that she had to leave the shoes and hat. Even bribing her to come again didn't do the trick. We left with crying and screaming.

Playing around

A few weekends we have gone hiking and have taken a picnic with us.
Richard is just being silly with his hiking stick.
Dora came for a hike with us. She is a trooper!

I attempted to take the kids geo-caching without a GPS and in the dark. Not a good idea on either account. LOL! But we had fun.

Our new surroundings

This is the view behind our apartment complex. Not too shabby. When Chris gets a fishing license we will take the kids there more often to try out Richard's fishing pole I won our first weekend in Scottsbluff.

Some of our last days in Scottsbluff

One day we wanted to visit the original Cabelas in NE so we drove to Sydney and had a look around. The one in Lehi, UT is the only other Cabela's I've been to and it was FAR more impressive! But Hannah had fun trying things on. I love this rain coat, adn it has matching boots.

We gave the kids their Valentine's early since we were planning on moving before or around Valentine's Day. Richard and Hannah were pretty happy, it didn't really matter to them what day it was.

We had Zachary and Sadie over for lunch and a play date on a beautiful day. The kids played and ate a picnic outside while Chris and I packed. It was perfect.

Sadie is so cute, she was being a princess in her cute dress. We couldn't get her to wear once of hannah's she just wanted to wear her good Sunday dress. She is cute and we really miss her!

The kids' new fav park

We have had pretty nice weather so the kids and I have gone to the park a lot. this is one of the first days we were here and the kids really are happier than they look. :) Richard likes to come here after school.

This park is right near a lot of soccer fields so we take Richard's ball and play as well as our t-ball equipment. It is also at the river so we can sit on a dock and throw rocks and sticks in. The kids LOVE doing that.
