Bunker outing

My family has an annual golf and barbeque each summer. My Uncle Jan was in charge of it this year. Those that golfed met about noon and the rest of us went to my Grandpa's property in Kamas until the golfers were finished. It was so much fun, even though we had a storm. The kids loved playing in the mud and rain.
Here are the kids playing in the car while I got everything loaded up.

A fun night on the town

Last night my Mom and I took the kids to the huge library in SLC. They had a blast discovering and finding new books to read.

Then we went to the New Gate Mall specifically for Richard to play in the fountains. He didn't want to leave and this morning asked me if we could go back. I'm glad he enjoyed himself.
Hannah was nervous, but she was funny to watch running back and forth.

FrontRunner

Last weekend I took the kids on the FrontRunner to the Gateway Mall. They had a blast. On the way home they were so comfortable with the train that they were running up and down the aisle. I was going nuts! At least we were the only people in that section. But it was fun.

Here are Richard's favorite funnies.

Memorial Day

We had a really nice Memorial Day. First we took the kids to see Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. It was really good and the kids had a lot of fun. Then we went swimming at the Athletic Club. Then we had a picnic at home with hotdogs, salads, and my smores. Here are some cute pics I took of the kids that night.

An amazing blessing

Chris's cousin, Alec, is entering the MTC tomorrow and we had the privilege to attend his ward on Sunday and listen to him speak. He did such a wonderful job! Probably the best departing missionary talk I've ever hear. Anyway, they had 2 youth speakers before him that were really great, too! I was very impressed by this ward.

And the most amazing part, President Henry B. Eyring was on the stand. Apparently he is in the ward. What a blessing. The final speaker was talking about listening to the words of the prophet and said that we have to be careful, especially since they have an Apostle as a neighbor, not to get too close and think of him as just a man, rather than a servant of the Lord.

When the meeting was coming to a close, President Eyring got up for just a moment. He said that is not typical for him, but he wanted to testify that what Alec and the youth had shared is the Gospel truth. And that he is blessed to talk with the Prophet, President Monson, every day and that he does not take his casual comments as casual. Eyring knows that Monson is ordained of God and that he is the Prophet.

President Eyring spoke for maybe 4 minutes, but every moment of it was filled with the Spirit and emotion. So many of us were crying in the congregation for the power of what he was saying and for the amazing Spirit that we felt. It was simple, pure truth. I know that Henry B. Eyring is an Apostle of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I am so blessed to have heard his testimony that day.

Not to trivialize what I just testified and shared, but afterward we went to Mark and Michelle's house for treats and to visit with family. It was a wonderful follow-up to the spiritual feeding we had. The gospel and family are so important to me and the center of God's plan. I am blessed to have a great family of my own and to have married into a wonderful family!
